The University of Mary Washington softball team fell to Lynchburg both games on Thursday, 8-0, in Lynchburg, Va.
Game 1
The Eagles picked up three hits as
Emily Mousso,
Emily Angel, and
Carys Gohlmann all picked up singles in Game 1.
Sydney Jester pitched three innings, yielding two runs before departing in the fourth.Â
The Hornets got on the scoreboard in the third with a pair of runs, then again in the fourth before scoring four more in the fifth.
Game 2
In Game 2, UMW picked up a pair of hits as Angel and
Brigid Ward singled, while
Shelby Presgrave and
Hailee Danneker walked. The Hornets struck first with four runs in the first, then two more in the fourth and then another in the fifth and sixth innings.
Cierra Foss struck out three batters in the loss.
The Eagles are back in action on Saturday afternoon against Virginia Wesleyan for a doubleheader at 1 & 3 p.m.
