Senior attacker
Molly Daw scored four goals and added an assist, and the defense again allowed fewer than five goals in an 8-4 victory at Randolph-Macon College on Tuesday evening in Ashland, Va. The Eagles improve to 2-0 on the season.
Mary Washington jumped ahead with three goals in the first quarter. Daw opened the scoring unassisted at 11:20 left, and added another at 5:12 remaining. First year
Sadie Laughlin upped the lead to 3-0 on a Daw assist at 3:37.
In the second, RMC opened the scoring, but Daw added her third of the day at 10:01, upping the lead to 4-1. Laughlin followed with another at 8:06 on a free position shot, and the Eagles led, 5-1, at halftime.
Laughlin thn set up UMW's first two scores of the third, first to sophomore
Abigail Fisher at 11:56, and then to
Kimber Konen at 4:19. The Yellow Jackets closed the gap to 7-3 with two last-minute goals to end the third.
Daw scored in the fourth on a Konen assist, before the Yellow Jackets closed the scoring.
The Eagles led in shots, 25-20, and picked up 15 ground balls, to 13 for the hosts. Sophomore goalkeeper

UMW will make is home debut on Saturday against Shenandoah University at 3:00 p.m.
