The fifth ranked University of Mary Washington men's basketball team fell for the first time this season on Saturday, with a 64-55 loss to 12th ranked St. Thomas (Tx.) University in San Antonio, Texas. The Eagles slip to 9-1 on the season.
The Eagles struggled offensively from the outset, as they trailed, 32-27, at halftime, and shot just 31% from the floor for the day (19-61). UMW shot just 3-20 from three-point range, and connected on 14-23 free throws.Â
Mary Washington was led by sophomore guard
Kye Robinson, who scored 19 points, and junior
Jay Randall, who added 13.Â
The Eagles will face Schreiner University on Sunday at noon.
