The University of Mary Washington women's basketball team fell to Susquehanna in its season opener on Saturday evening, 83-60, in Selinsgrove, PA.
The Eagles were led by
Dylan Wood's 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting, while
Emma Terry (4-of-10) and
Mackenzie Wharton (3-for-5) each added 11 points each. On the boards, it was
Rileigh Weaver who led the way with seven.
The River Hawks were 33-of-72 from the floor (45.8%) and 8-for-21 from deep. Meanwhile, the Eagles shot 19-of-54 from the floor (35.2%), but were 9-of-19 from beyond the 3-point line. But the River Hawks outrebounded UMW by 14, 49-35.
The Eagles are back in action on Saturday against DeSales at 1 p.m. in Selinsgrove, PA.
