Senior forward
Grayson Scott scored three goals, and classmate
Lauren Boucher added a goal and an assist on senior day, as the University of Mary Washington field hockey team defeated Concordia University of Wisconsin, 6-0, on Saturday at the Battleground. The Eagles improve to 8-5 on the season, and 2-0 in Collegiate Field Hockey Conference action.
Scott scored a natural hat trick to open the scoring, caging a score at 6:13 after spinning around a defender with the ball, and another at 9:56 on a long pass from Boucher up the middle of the field. The Eagles led, 2-0, after the first quarter, as well as at halftime.Â
Scott completed the trifecta at 32:00, beating a defender one-on-one and the keeper near side. In the fourth, first year
Kenzi Reece scored at 45:39 on a redirect from
Mackenzie Proffitt, and Boucher scored at 47:22 on a penalty corner initiated by
Katie Royle and sent strongly into the box by Proffitt. Sophomore
Anna Reed added another at 53:29 on a rebounded shot off the keeper.
The Eagles led in shots, 33-4, as well as penalty corners, 8-2. Junior goalkeeper played a clean first half, and senior
