The University of Mary Washington field hockey team erupted for five goals as the Eagles won their second road conference contest in as many days, in a 5-2 victory at Marian University on Sunday afternoon in Find du Lac, Wisconsin. The Eagles improve to 5-3 overall, and 2-0 in Collegiate Field Hockey Conference play.

Grayson Scott continued her outstanding offensive season, putting the Eagles ahead with the first score at 4:16 on a
Monique Lipton assist. In the second quarter, senior
Emma Bernard extended to the lead to 2-0 at 22:58, before Marian cut the margin in half at 25:00.Â
Just after halftime, senior
Paige Stewart scored 1:18 into play, and in the fourth, senior
Ellie Helbling added another at 53:09. After Marian caged its second goal of the day, junior
Caroline Porter tallied her first goal, with three minutes remaining, on a Stewart assist.
The Eagles led in shots, 21-10, as well as penalty corners, 7-4. Sophomore goalie
Tori Winans went the distance, making four saves.
UMW will return to action on Wednesday, when the Eagles host Randolph-Macon College at 4:00 p.m.
