The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team recorded a season-high 18 shots, but fell against Bridgewater College, 2-1, on Wednesday night in Fredericksburg, Va.
The Eagles held Bridgewater to just six total shots -- five of which were on goal, three were saved -- as the Eagles fired shot after shot, controlling poession for most of Wednesday night's game.
A scoreless first half turned into a three-goal second half as Bridgewater struck for goals in the 49th minute, then broke the tie once more in the 59th minute.
Eliza Franklin scored on a penalty kick to tie the game at one in the 57th minute.
The barrage of UMW shots forced the Bridgewater keeper to record nine saves. Franklin led the way with five shots of her own, while
Ellen Shine had three.
