The University of Mary Washington field hockey team suffered its second straight loss against a ranked opponent, falling 4-0 at 16th ranked Shenandoah University on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles slip to 3-2 on the season.
In a game that saw much action in the center of the field (only 15 total shots combined), the Hornets scored the game's first goal in the second quarter, and led, 1-0, at halftime. The hosts added one score in the third quarter, and two more in the fourth.
Shenandoah led in shots, 12-3, as well as penalty corners, 8-2. UMW sophomore goalie
Tori Winans made five saves on the day for the Eagles.
UMW will return to action on Wednesday, when the Eagles visit Washington & Lee, their fourth straight ODAC opponent, at 7:00 p.m.
