Box Score The University of Mary Washington field hockey team jumped out to an early lead, but dropped a 3-2 decision at Washington & Lee University on Wednesday night in Lexington, Va. The Eagles slip to 3-3 on the season.

Emma Bernard. The Generals would tie the score 11 minutes later, and the score remained tied at one until the third quarter.
The Eagles went back ahead at 37:16, as senior
Paige Stewart scored on a Scott assist, but the Generals again answered with the tying goal at 41:00. The game would remained deadlocked at 2-2 through regulation, and one overtime, before the Generals found the winning score at 76:59.
Washington & Lee led in shots, 20-8, as well as penalty corners, 11-4. Sophomore goalie
Tori Winans made eight saves for the Eagles.
UMW will return to action on Saturday, when they visit Collegiate Field Hockey Conference foe Concordia (Wisc.) at 1:00 p.m., in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
