The No. 1 University of Mary Washington men's soccer team finished off the regular season with a victory over Christopher Newport on Saturday night, 3-0, in Newport News, Va.
Carter Berg became the fifth member to join the 100 Point Club in men's soccer program history with his goal in the 16th minute, then he scored once more in the 29th minute to ice the Eagles victory and put it out of reach for the Captains.
Gabe Francesconi recorded the assist on both goals.
UMW took a 2-0 lead into the halftime break and led in shots 8-6. The Eagles, too, led in shots-on-goal, 3-0.

Joel Albritton for a header that found the back of the net to give UMW a 3-0 lead.

Freddy Rogers recorded a pair of saves and ran his record to 16-1-1 this season with eight shutouts.
All told, UMW led in shots (20-9), shots-on-goal (9-2), and corner kicks (6-3).
The Eagles end the 2024 regular season with a 16-1-1 record and went unbeaten against NCAA Div. III opponents (16-0-1). They will host the Coast-to-Coast men's soccer championships next weekend. The Eagles will play on Friday at 11 a.m., the winner will play next Sunday at Noon.
