The University of Mary Washington volleyball team split a pair of matches at Catholic University on Saturday, first falling, 3-0, to #1 ranked Juniata College, and then sweeping a 3-0 decision from the host Cardinals. The Eagles move to 9-10 on the season.
UMW opened with Juniata, and fell, 25-12, 25-12, 25-17. The Eagles were led by sophomore
Libby Potter's six kills, while senior
Ally Fletcher added four. Junior
Brenna Campbell scored nine assists, and senior
Hannah Livermon led with eight digs.
The Eagles rebounded to top Catholic, 25-22, 25-21, 25-20. Potter once again led the Eagles wih 12 kills, while senior
Chloe Crosen scored 11 and Fletcher 10. Senior
Lauren Foley posted 24 assists while Campbell added 13, and senior
Emily Flamm added two service aces. Junior
Avery Gallahue led with eight total blocks, and senior
Sarah Moore led a balanced defensive effort with eight digs.
UMW will return to action on Wednesday when the Eagles return home to face Marymount University at 7:00 p.m.
