The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team (4-3-3) shut out St. Mary's offense -- the fifth time it has done so this season -- drawing with St. Mary's on Wednesday night in Saint Mary's City, Md.
The Eagles' defense, as strong as it's always been, allowed just a pair of shots to the nine-win Seahawks, none of which were on target. On the other hand, Mary Washington recorded three shots in the first half, before coming alive in the second have with 12 more shots -- seven of which were on goal.
Emily Box led the way with four (two on goal),
Madison Bauserman had two (one on goal), while
Eliza Franklin,
Ellen Shine,
Erin Reynolds, and
Jazzy Imanverdi recorded a shot on goal each.
Amanda Dolan,
Maci Landel,
Maria Walsh,
Brianna Kenealy, and
Layla Royster had one shot each.
Morgan Hicok was part of her third shutout this season -- second playing the full 90-minutes -- after shutting out Hood College on Saturday night.
Overall, Mary Washington led in shots (15-2), shots on goal (7-0), and corner kicks (5-0).
The Eagles are back in action on Saturday for Senior Day against Marymount. First touch is set for 1:00 p.m.
