University of Mary Washington seniors Rishi Charan Shankar and Peter Leese have advanced to the semifinal round of the ITA Regional Championship, being held this weekend at the Battleground.

The duo, seeded second, gained a first round bye, and then defeated Graham Hadesman and Max Pogorelov of Swarthmore, 8-3, in the second round, and Eagle teammates Brock Ladehoff and Andrew Cooper, 8-5, in the round of 16. On Saturday, Charan Shankar and Leese defeated Edvard Porsmyr Hansen and Ashton Legum of Christopher Newport, 8-5, in the quarters.

Charan Shankar and Leese will face Derek Wong and Akshay Joshi of Johns Hopkins in Sunday semifinals staring at 9:00 a.m.
