Asher Willenborg and
Trevor Rein upended top-seeded Caleb Settles and Advik Mareedu of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Sunday in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III men's tennis individual championships in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Willenborg and Rein dropped the first set, 6-1, but rebounded with a 6-4 win in the second and 6-3 in the third.
The duo will take on Gage Gohl and Tyler Haddorf of Gustavus Adolphus College on Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the national semifinals. Gohl and Haddorf downed third seeded Trey Lambridge and Bryce Ware of Case Western Reserve in the quarterfinal round. The two teams have already met once this year, as Gustavus played three matches in Fredericksburg this April. Willenborg and Rein gained a 6-2 win over Gohl and Haddorf in their prior meeting.
