The University of Mary Washington athletic department is pleased to announce the hiring of Sarah Dalsey as the new head women's lacrosse coach, according to Director of Athletics Patrick Catullo.

"We look forward to having Coach Dalsey join UMW Athletics as the next head coach of the women's lacrosse program", said Catullo. "Coach Dalsey's coaching ability and proven work ethic will be a great asset to the team and the department."

"I am incredibly honored to accept the position as head women's lacrosse coach at the University of Mary Washington", said Dalsey. "I want to sincerely thank Director of Athletics Patrick Catullo for this incredible opportunity and for believing in my vision for the program. UMW has a proud tradition of academic and athletic excellence, and I'm excited to lead this talented group of young women as we build on that legacy. Go Eagles!"

Dalsey comes to UMW from Linfield University, where she has served as women's lacrosse head coach since 2022-23. She oversaw a Wildcat program that advanced to the 2025 Northwest Conference Tournament – a first for the program. She guided her teams at Linfield to 17 wins in her tenure. In addition, she provided support to the athletic director with game day operations, as well as major events in the athletic department.

She has also served since 2022 as Director of Xcelerate Sports Girl's Lacrosse camps, developing the program to increase participation in the game of lacrosse, and directed coaching and staff development.

Prior to her work at Linfield, she coached four years as an assistant coach at Adrian College and McDaniel College, assisting with practice development, operations, recruiting, and strength and conditioning programs. She has coached at successful camps at McDaniel as well as Pace University, and worked in administrative roles at McDaniel and Manhattanville College. She has coached top club programs in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut.

A four-year standout at Division III Manhattanville, she gained MAC Freedom all-conference honors, as well as academic all-conference accolades while ranking as Manhattanville's all-time leader in draw controls (200) and caused turnovers (80), while ranking ninth in ground balls (132) and 10th in goals (94).
