Through 15 seasons as head men's soccer coach at the University of Mary Washington, Jason Kilby has established one of the nation's premier Division III programs. Under his leadership, the Eagles have captured six conference championships (2017, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023, and 2024), made six NCAA Tournament appearances, advanced to the NCAA Final Four in 2022—the program's second Final Four appearance after its historic 1997 run—and earned the program's first-ever No. 1 national ranking in both 2023 and 2024.

After inheriting the program in 2011, Kilby guided the Eagles to steady success, reaching the conference championship match in 2012 and again in 2016 before launching one of the most successful eras in school history. Since 2017, Mary Washington has consistently competed among the nation's elite, advancing to the NCAA Tournament six times and winning three consecutive conference championships from 2022-24.

The 2018 season was one of the finest defensive campaigns in program history. The Eagles finished 14-1-5, set a school record with just one loss, climbed as high as No. 7 in the national rankings, and ranked among the NCAA leaders in save percentage, goals-against average, and shutout percentage. Kilby was named Conference Coach of the Year for the fourth time, while he and his staff earned United Soccer Coaches South Atlantic Region Coaching Staff of the Year honors.

In 2019, the Eagles claimed their third consecutive conference championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after spending much of the season ranked among the nation's top 10.

The 2022 campaign marked a historic milestone as Mary Washington captured the Coast-to-Coast Conference championship and advanced to the NCAA Division III Final Four for the first time in program history. Along the way, Kilby recorded the 250th victory of his collegiate coaching career with a quarterfinal win over nationally ranked Bowdoin College.

The Eagles reached even greater heights in 2023 and 2024, posting back-to-back 18-and-19-win seasons while earning the program's first-ever No. 1 national ranking in both years. Mary Washington captured consecutive Coast-to-Coast Conference championships and advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 in each season.

Prior to arriving at Mary Washington, Kilby spent nine seasons as head coach at NC Wesleyan, compiling a 120-43-13 overall record and a remarkable 43-7-6 mark in USA South Conference play. His teams won back-to-back undefeated conference championships in 2004 and 2005 and posted undefeated regular seasons in 2006 and 2007.

In 2007, Kilby guided the Battling Bishops to a program-best 18-2 record, an undefeated regular season, a Sweet 16 appearance, and a No. 2 national ranking for much of the season. He

followed that performance in 2008 with a 16-3-2 record, a USA South Tournament championship, and the program's third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.

He holds both the United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma and the U.S. Soccer Federation "A" License.
