The 25th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team defeated Salisbury University, 7-0, on Wednesday afternoon at the Hegmann Family Courts, The Eagles improve to 11-6 on the season.
The Eagles claimed the doubles point after winning all three flights. Junior
Addison Felts and sophomore
Natalie Kim, who earlier in the day were ranked 10th in the nation by the ITA, downed Gibelle Beaujon and Cleo Solomon, 6-2. at one, and freshmen
Isabella Rotaru and
Sarah Sandoval Banuelos topped Evelyn Whiteside and Elizabeth Coligan at two, 6-1.
Sophia Broomall and
Jacey Copeland completed the sweep with a 6-4 win at three.
In singles, Felts - now ranked 48th nationally - topped Beaujon, 6-2, 6-2, at one, Rotaru downed Solomon, 6-3, 6-1, at two, and Kim topped Olivia Hall, 6-3, 6-1.
Sarah Sandoval Banuelos beat Whiteside at four, 6-0, 6-1, Broomall topped Leah Osmon, 6-3, 6-1, at five, and
Naomi Feltman topped Katherine Raab at six, 6-1, 6-2.
The Eagles will be back in action on Friday at 4:00 p.m. against Virginia Wesleyan University.
