The 1th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team defeated 34th ranked North Carolina Wesleyan University on Tuesday afternoon at the Hegmann Family Courts. The Eagles improve to 18-5 on the season.
UMW scored wins at all three doubles flights, as Asher WIllenborg and
Trevor Rein gained a 6-1 win at one, and
Ryan Battaglia and
Ryan Gipner also posted a 6-1 win at two.
Evan Fisher and
Jack Riordan added a 7-5 win at three.
Singles play saw Willenborg take a 6-1, 6-0 win at one, Rein add a 6-4, 6-2 victory at three, Battaglia score a 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 win at four, and
Cooper Lehman add a 6-4, 6-2 win at six.
The Eagles will close the regular season on April 29 at home against #7 Johns Hopkins University at 3:30 p.m.
