The 15th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team used strong singles play to defeat 22nd ranked Pomona Pitzer Colleges, 4-1, on Saturday at the Hegmann Family Courts. The Eagles improve to 16-4 on the season.

Ryan Gipner and junior
Jack Riordan scored a 6-2 victory at two doubles, but UMW fell at one and three to drop the doubles point.
Singles were a different story, however, as UMW scored a win from
Trevor Rein at two, 6-3, 6-1,
Ryan Battaglia at five, 6-2, 6-0, and
Cooper Lehman at six, 6-3, 6-2. The clinching point came from Riordan at three, who overcame a 6-4 first set loss to rebound for a 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 win to end the proceedings.
The Eagles will be back in action on April 17 at 13th ranked Trinity University (TX) at 3:30 p.m.
