The 12th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision at 17th ranked Trinity (TX) University on Friday in San Antonio. The Eagles slip to 16-5 on the season.
The Eagles dropped the doubles point, as
Asher Willenborg and
Trevor Rein fell at one, 6-2,
Ryan Battaglia and
Ryan Gipner fell at two, 7-6, and
Evan Fisher and
Jack Riordan fell at three, 7-6.
In singles, Willenborg fell at one, 6-2, 6-3, Riordan fell at two, 6-3, 6-7, 3-6, and Rein dropped a 4-6, 6-7 score at three. Gipner dropped a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 decision at four, Battaglia lost at five, 6-4, 6-4, and
Cooper Lehman fell at six, 7-5, 6-7, 10-7.
UMW will be back in action on Saturday against Southwestern University at 1:00 p.m.
