The 37th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team defeated the University of Sioux Falls, 6-1, on Tuesday, and saw its match against Jphn Carroll University suspended overnight to Wednesday, which ended in a 6-0 Eagle victory. UMW improves to 4-0 on the season.
Against Sioux Falls, the Eagles gained the doubles point with wins from
Addison Felts and
Natalie Kim at one, 6-3, and
Sophia Broomall and
Isabella Rotaru at two, 6-1.
In singles, wins came from
Natalie Kim at one, 6-0, 6-4,
Sarah Sandoval Banuelos at two, 2-6, 6-2, 10-5, Broomall at four, 6-1, 6-1,
Natalie Howell at five, 6-4, 6-4, and
Naomi Feltman at six, 6-2, 6-1.
Against the Blue Streaks, the Eagles scored wins by Felts and Kim at one, 6-1, Rotaru and Sandoval Banuelos at two, 6-1, and Broomall and
Jacey Copeland at three, 6-2 on Tuesday. Upon resumption, the Eagles scored wins from Felts at one, 8-0, Rotaru at two, 8-0, Copeland at four, 8-2, Howell at five, 8-7, and
Mady Holman at six, 8-5.
The Eagles will be back in action on Thursday against RPI at 11:30 a.m.
