The University of Mary Washington volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Friday evening at the Worthington Classic at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. The Eagles lost Whittier College, 3-0, before falling to Franklin & Marshall College, 3-0.
In the opener, the Eagles fell to Whittier, 25-17, 25-12, 25-21. First year
Mackenzie Williams led the Eagles with nine kills, while senior
Avery Gallahue added seven. First year
Olivia Fortier added 12 assists and 10 digs, and
Maura Munson posted 14 digs and eight assists. Junior Sydney AIken posted 13 digs as well.
Alice Holoubek and
Natalie Brown each had three total blocks.
The Eagles then dropped a 25-21, 25-17, 25-17 score to Franklin & Marshall College. Williams and Brown each had nine kills for UMW, and Munson had 14 assists and Aiken 15 digs.
UMW will continue at Gallaudet for a pair of matches on Saturday.
