University of Mary Washington first year All-America
Yasmin Deane added another to her list of accomplishments on Thursday, as Deane, the UMW Female Athlete of the Year, was named Virginia Sports Information Directors Association's Female College Division Track Rookie of the Year, while gaining first team all-state honors.
After a winter indoor season that saw her break a pair of school records, Deane's outdoor season brought more accolades, as she gained C2C Rookie of the Year, C2C Track Athlete of the Week twice, and broke school and conference records in the 100 meters (11.57) and 200 meters (24.35). She gained All-America honors in the 200 with a 16
th place finish at the NCAA Division III Championships before being named as the school's Female Athlete of the Year on Wednesday.
