The 69th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team defeated Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference foe Salisbury University, 7-0, on Saturday in Salisbury. The Eagles even their season record at 7-7.
The Eagles began the day by taking two of three doubles matches to gain the doubles point. Sophomore
Addison Felts and first year
Natalie Kim scored a 6-1 win at one doubles over Gibelle Beaujon and Olivia Hall, and
Jacey Copeland and
Evie Snyder gained a 6-1 win over Katherine Raab and Elizabeh Coligan at three.
In singles, the Eagles swept all six matches. Felts defeated Beaujon at one, 6-3, 6-2, Kim defeated Hall, 6-2, 6-1, at two, and
Linda Dimitroff topped Lily Muir at three, 6-4, 6-3. Copeland bested Evelyn Whiteside at four, 7-5, 4-6, 1-0, and
Sophia Broomall downed Raab at five, 6-0, 6-1. Snyder defeated Coligan, 6-0, 6-2, at six.
The Eagles will be back in action on Friday when they host ninth ranked Johns Hopkins University at 4:00 p.m.Â
