The University of Mary Washington men's soccer team had little trouble in its 2-0 victory over Shenandoah on Wednesday, 2-0, in Fredericksburg, Va.
The Eagles got on the board in the 27th minute when
Sammy Amorose found
Moises Argueta-Garcia for his third goal of the season that got UMW's offense rolling. Mary Washington took a 1-0 lead into the half.
Following the break it was Argueta-Garcia and Amorose who teamed up again to get UMW back on the scoreboard when Argueta-Garcia passed the ball to Amorose, who netted his fifth goal of the season to extend the lead to a pair.
On the day, the Hornets recorded 14 shots, (five on goal), while the Eagles trailed with 12 (four on goal). Though, UMW led in corner kicks, 8-3.
Keeper
Tristan Kickbush recorded five saves to advance his record to 7-5-1 on the season, posting his third shutout of the season.
The Eagles are back in action on Saturday at Salisbury. First touch is set for 11 a.m.
