The University of Mary Washington men's cross country team finished second among 35 competing schools in its race, and the Eagles women claimed seventh place among 34 schools at the Paul Short Run on Friday in Lehigh, Pa.
The men were led by sophomore
Nicholas Smerlis, who finished in 16th place with a time of 26:29.4, while senior
Aidan Kimener took 20th, at 26:40.9. Sophomore
Rylan Sedlacek took 26th place with a time of 26:50.9, C.J. Hulleman took 28th at 26:54.3, and senior
Luke Blair took 34th at 27:02.9.
The women were led by sophomore
Lily Hoffman, who finished in 10th place with a time of 22:56.1, and junior
Eyaya Fletcher in 42nd place, at 24:22.6. Sophomore
Addy Wallin was 50th at 24:29.5, sophomore
Ava Wray placed 75th at 25:05.2, and senior
Katherine Armstrong rounded out the top five at 25:28.7, in 94th place.
Both teams will be back in action again on October 18 at Rowan University.
