The University of Mary Washington field hockey team scored a 4-0 shutout win at Centre College on Saturday in Collegiate Field Hockey Conference action, to move to 10-5 overall, and 4-0 in conference play.
The Eagles held an advantage in shots in the first, but were held scoreless until junior
Mackenzie Proffitt found the back of the cage at 13:08. Senior
Grayson Scott added to the lead with a goal at 17:16, and the Eagles held a 2-0 lead at halftime.
In the third, junior
Hannah Jadgchew scored at 37:48, and Proffitt capped the scoring at 39:36 on an
Ally Von Herbulis assist.
The Eagles led in shots, 13-9, and penalty corners, 9-4. Junior
Tori Winans made six saves in 45 minutes, and senior
Erin Roy completed the shutout with 15 scoreless minutes in goal. UMW will visit Transylvania University on Sunday at noon.
