The University of Mary Washington women's swim team blew out Catholic on Saturday afternoon in Washington, D.C., 229-57.
The Eagles started the meet out with a bang in the 200-yard medley relay with Pheobe Root,
Bridget Zagrobelny,
Bri Wilson, and
Spera Moy-Jacobs finished first (1:52.28). In the 1,000-yard freestyle Maddie Kryszon finished first (11:05.34), while
Kaylie Curran placed second.
Spera Moy-Jacobs then placed first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:00.40) with
Ashley Dyer placing second (2:03.24), and
Sarah Brown finished in third.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Zagrobelny finished first (1:10.11), while
Delaney Humphrey finished third (1:13.62).
Wilson then went on to place first in the 200-yard butterfly (2:13.13), while
Carleigh Dillman (2:17.55) and
Marina Klein finished in second and third, respectively.Â
Soleli Clifford finished first in the 50-yard freestyle (25.67), while
Anna Jayjack placed second (25.69). In the 100-yard freestyle, Moy-Jacobs finished first and
Ann Karr finished in third.
Root finished in first in the 200-yard backstroke (2:11.85), while
Nora McMullen finished second. Zagrobelny, Dyer and Clifford placed first, second, and third in the 200-yard breaststroke.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Wilson, Jayjack, and Root placed on the podium. In the 200-yard IM, Dillman, Zagrobelny, Humphrey finished on top of the podium as well.
Maura Munson was first in 1-meter diving, while
Mackenzie Murphy was second and
Emma Walker third. Walker placed first in 3-meter diving, scoring nine points towards the Eagles total.
The Eagles are back in action on Saturday against Lynchburg in Fredericksburg, Va. at 1 p.m.
