Grayson Scott scored two goals in the opening 1:10 of play, kickstarting a 4-0 victory a Concordia (Wisconsin) on Saturday afternoon in the Eagles' first Collegiate Field Hockey Conference game. The Eagles snap a three-game losing streak, and improve to 4-3 on the season.
Scott, the team's leading scorer, opened the proceedings with a score at 48 seconds, on an assist from senior
Paige Stewart. Then, just 22 seconds later, Scott added another tally, this time on an assist from sophomore
Hannah Jadgchew.
The lead swelled to 3-0 on a score from senior
Emma Bernard, via a
Mackenzie Proffitt assist a 21:05. Junior
Kalani Moore added insurance in the third quarter, on an assist from
Jessica Wood.
In all, the Eagles led in shots, 36-5, as well as penalty corners, 11-4. Sophomore Tori WInans made wo saves in 30 minutes,
Erin Roy made wo saves in 23 minutes, and
Brooke Martin posed seven minutes of scoreless relief.
UMW will be back in action on Sunday on its Wisconsin tour, as the Eagles will visit Marian University in Fond du Lac at noon Eastern time, in another CFHC contest.
