The University of Mary Washington women's swim team took home a victory at Frostburg State on Saturday afternoon, 163-99, to improve to 4-0 this season in Frostburg, Md.
The Eagles started off the meet strong when
Madison Kryszon won the 800-meter freestyle, improving on her seed time by nearly 11 seconds at 9:29.24, and
Ashley Dyer placed third at 9:37.43. In the 400-meter freestyle, Kryszon and Dyer placed first and second with Kryszon winning at 4:39.22.
Spera Moy-Jacobs continued her winning ways with a win in the 200-meter freestyle (2:11.73), while
Sarah Brown and
Nora McMullen placed second and third for UMW. Moy-Jacobs then won her second event of the day in the 100-meter freestyle.
McMullen then went on to place second in the 200-meter backstroke, while
Phoebe Root won the event with a final time of 2:25.79.
Ainsley Graf and
April Groce placed second and third in the 100-meter backstroke, which added seven points on to UMW's final score.
Bridget Zagrobelny cashed in her first victory of the day when she won the 100-meter breaststroke with a final time of 1:17.93.
Carleigh Dillman won the 200-meter butterfly (2:30.98), while
Marina Klein took home second place for UMW.
Soleil Clifford and
Anna Jayjack placed second and third in the 50-meter freestyle.And in the 100-meter butterfly
Bri Wilson finished first (1:07.49), while Jayjack finished in second.
The Eagles are back in action on Friday night at 5 p.m. with a matchup at St. Mary's (Md.)
