Thanks for Eliza Franklin's goal in the 60th minute, the Mary Washington women's soccer team (5-4) beat Hood College on Wednesday night in Frederick, Maryland, 1-0.

The Eagles tallied 13 shots, holding Hood to just seven shots defensively.

Of UMW's 13 shots, six were on goal -- Franklin, Kaitlyn Venzen, Savannah Alexander, Riley Boyd, Erin Reynolds and Eva McCrehin all accounted for the Eagles shots on net.

Sydney Alexander recorded a save and posted her second shutout of the season.

Mary Washington tallied three corners compared to Hood's two.

UMW returns home after a five-game road swing for a matchup with Kenyon College on Saturday. First touch is set for 1:00 p.m.
