UMW Volleyball Tops Penn State Harrisburg, 3-0, on Friday Night

The University of Mary Washington volleyball team gained a 3-0 victory at Penn State Harrisburg on Friday night in the penultimate game of the 2017 regular season in central Pennsylvania. The Eagles improve to 17-9 overall, and 6-2 in Capital Athletic Conference action.

Mary Washington, who has won six straight matches, won by scores of 25-22, 25-19, 32-30. The Eagles were led by freshman Tenley Hares' 12 kills, eight digs, and four aces, while Rachel Voketaitis added eight kills. Lindsay Vaught and Emma Meek each had five kills, and Savannah Powers had four in the final series of points. Sophomore Kendal Hall had 16 assists and freshman Wren Berry 15 for UMW, while Ryan Cho led with 16 digs. Meek provided five total blocks.

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday when they visit York College of Pa. in a key CAC contest in the regular season finale.
