UMW Volleyball Tops Southern Va., 3-1, on Saturday to Move into 2nd Place Tie in CAC

The University of Mary Washington volleyball team defeated Southern Virginia University, 25-23, 18-25, 25-20, 25-20, on Saturday to improve to 15-9 on the season, and 5-2 in Capital Athletic Conference play.

The Eagles were led by sophomore Peyton Dunow's 14 kills, while freshman Tenley Hares scored 10 and junior Leslie Walters nine. Freshman Wren Berry had 21 assists, while sophomore Kendal Hall added 20, and junior Ryan Cho added five service aces.

Senior Jenna Yost scored 23 digs to lead the way defensively, while Dunow added 10. Dunow had three solo blocks and one assist, while freshman Emma Meek had four block assists.

The Eagles will visit Lynchburg College on Wednesday night at 7 pm.
