Will Cohen has been named as assistant coach for defending national champion Mary Washington men's basketball.
Cohen comes to Fredericksburg after one year as assistant coach at Southwestern (TX) University, where he helped turn around a program that improved by 11 victories over the previous two seasons. He assisted in opponent scouting and game preparation as well as daily practice planning, and aided in roster management as well as travel coordination and prospective player evaluation.
Cohen served one season as a student assistant at his alma mater at Colorado College, after assisting the program as a student manager for four years. His coaching experience also includes a four-year apprenticeship at Friends Seminary school, where he played three years of varsity (two as starter). While at Friends Seminary School, the team captured the NYSAIS state championship in 2020, after advacing to the state finals in 2019.
Cohen is a 2025 graduate of Colorado College, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics.
