Larry Levermann is entering his second season at the University of Mary Washington. Levermann came to UMW from Comal ISD in New Braunfels, TX. While there, he helped increase the presence of the throwers program and the strength and conditioning programs in the district, and he trained several district champions.

Before working in the public-school setting, Levermann was the throws coach and head strength and conditioning coach at Texas State University. While at Texas State, he coached three Division I All-Americans, one Olympic Trials finalist, and multiple conference champions in the throwing events.

Prior to his time at Texas State, Levermann was a strength and conditioning coach at the University of Southern California. At USC, he worked with athletes who went on to compete in the NFL and NBA, as well as numerous Olympians, including several gold medalists.

Coach Levermann is a member of USA Track & Field and is a Level 2 throws coach. He is also a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He was named Conference Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year two years in a row. A member of the United States Weightlifting Federation, Levermann is also a two-time NCAA All-American in the throws. He received his bachelor’s degree from East Texas State University and his master’s degree from TCU with an emphasis in exercise physiology.
