University of Mary Washington

Chris Hirons is in his third year at the University of Mary Washington as the Assistant Director of Sports Information. Hirons assists with the Eagle athletic website (www.umweagles.com), the Eagles social media profiles (@UMWAthletics), the publicity of all 21 varsity and two team-level programs, and serves as the main media and game day operations contact of nine of the university's varsity sports.

Hirons grew up in the Fredericksburg, Va. area and attended many athletic events hosted by UMW throughout his childhood and into his high school years. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications (Sports Media & Analytics concentration) and is currently in UMW's Masters of Business Administration program.

Hirons resides in Richmond and follows the Hokies, Washington Nationals, Commanders, and the Wizards closely.
