The 25th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team scored a pair of 7-0 victories on Saturday in Sewanee, Tennessee to improve to 10-5 on the season. The Eagles blanked 51st ranked Rhodes College, 7-0, before sweeping Berry College, 7-0, as well.
In the win over Rhodes,
Addison Felts and
Natalie Kim scored a 6-4 win at one doubles,
Sophia Broomall and
Jacey Copeland won, 7-5, at two, and
Mady Holman and
Sarah Sandoval Banuelos scored a 6-3 win at three doubles.
Singles play saw Felts gain a 6-1, 6-0 win at one, Kim add a 6-0, 6-0 win at two, and Sandoval Banuelos score a 6-0, 6-0 win at three. Broomall won at four, 6-0, 6-2, Copeland won at five, 6-3, 6-0, and
Naomi Feltman won at six, 6-3, 6-0.
In the win over Berry, Felts and Kim won at one doubles, 6-2, Broomall and Copeland won at two, 6-3, and Sandoval Banuelos and Holman won at three, 6-0.
In singles, Felts won, 6-0, 6-0, at one, Sandoval Banuelos won at two, 6-0, 6-1, and
Evie Snyder won at three, 6-2, 6-1. Feltman won at four, 6-1, 6-1,
Natalie Howell won at five, 6-3, 6-1, and Holman won at six, 6-1, 6-0.
The Eagles will take on #27 Sewanee on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
