The 34th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team scored a 5-2 victory over Grinnell College on Saturday afternoon at the Hegmann Family Tennis Courts. The Eagles improve to 6-1 on the season.
In doubles, the Eagles fell at one and three to drop the doubles point, but freshmen
Isabella Rotaru and
Sarah Sandoval Banuelos scored a 6-4 win at two doubles.
Singles saw the Eagles turn the tables, gaining five wins. Junior
Addison Felts scored a 6-2, 7-5 win at one over Pari Chavan, and Rotaru rolled to a 6-2, 6-0 win at two over Paige Sargent.
Natalie Kim gained a 6-2, 6-3 win at three over Logan Tom, and Sandoval Banuelos scored a 6-1, 6-3 victory at four over Isa Voinescu.
Sophia Broomall capped the wins with a 6-4, 6-1 win at six over Michole Henning.
The Eagles will return to action on Friday when they host second ranked Washington University (Mo.) at 4:00 p.m.
