#23 UMW Men's Tennis Tops Va. Wesleyan to Improve to 5-0

Box Score The 23rd ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team defeated Virginia Wesleyan University, 6-1, on Sunday afternoon at the UMW Indoor Tennis Center. With the win, the Eagles improve to 5-0 on the season.

UMW began the day by winning all three doubles matches to gain the doubles point. Trevor Rein and Asher WIllenborg scored a6-4 win at one, Ryan Battaglia and Evan Fisher won, 7-5, at two, and Ryan Gipner and Jack Riordan gained a 6-0 win at three.

In singles, the Eagles continued to shine, with wins from Willenborg at one over Jed Platts, 6-3, 6-0, Battaglia at two over Ayaan Choudhary, 5-7, 7-5, 10-2, Gipner over Tudor Vlad at three, 6-1, 7-5, Fisher at four over Sebastien Muller, 6-1, (ret.), and Cooper Lehman at six, 6-2, 6-1, over Simon Oster.

The Eagles will return to action on March 2 at noon against Sacred Heart University in Florida.
