The 37th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team opened the spring season with a 7-0 win over Franklin & Marshall College on Saturday at the UMW Indoor Tennis Center.
The Eagles started with three wins in doubles to gain the point.
Addison Felts and
Natalie Kim scored a 6-1 win at one,
Isabella Rotaru and
Sarah Sandoval Banuelos won at two, 6-2, and
Sophia Broomall and
Jacey Copeland won at three, 6-3.
In singles, the Eagles gained wins from Felts at one, 6-1, 6-0, Rotaru at two, 6-3, 6-3, and
Natalie Kim at three, 6-3, 7-5. Sandoval Banuelos won at four, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2,
Evie Snyder won at two, 6-2, 6-2, and Broomall won at six, 6-2, 6-2.
The Eagles will be back in action next Sunday at Haverford College at 11:00 a.m.
