Both the University of Mary Washington men's and women's swim and dive teams fell to Washington & Lee on Friday evening in Fredericksburg, Va. The women lost 171-91, while the men's final score was 156-106.
The women opened the meet with a victory in the 400-yard medley relay, as Maddie Timmons, Soleil Clifford, Christina Korkos and Spera Moy-Jacobs combined for a time of 3:59.74. The Eagles later captured the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:40.12 behind Megan Fallin, Clifford, Moy-Jacobs and Abi Higgins.
Moy-Jacobs led the women's individual with victories in both the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.59) and 100-yard freestyle (54.38). Korkos added a win in the 100-yard backstroke (59.33). Other notable finishes included Clifford's second place performances in both the 100-and-200-yard breaststroke events, along with Megan Fallin's third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle.
On the men's side, Rowan Turner opened the individual event victories with a first-place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle, finishing at 10:25.81. Tucker Burkey captured two individual wins, taking the 100-yard backstroke in 51.97 seconds and the 200-yard individual medley in 2:01.46.
Sam Roundtree added a victory in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 58.65 seconds, while the Eagles closed the meet by winning the 200-yard freestyle relay. Brandon Harvey, Rece Storer, Sam Mahoney and Roundtree combined for a time of 1:24.74.
The Eagles are back in action next Thursday at Randolph-Macon in Ashland, Va. at 6:30 p.m.
