The University of Mary Washington women's tennis team defeated Virginia Wesleyan University by a 6-1 margin on Friday afternoon at the Hegmann Family Courts. The Eagles even their season record at 8-8.
The Eagles swept all three doubles matches, as Sophomore
Addison Felts and first year
Natalie Kim defeated Tuva Flink and Jette Hafermann at one, 6-1, while
Linda Dimitroff and
Sophia Broomall downed Zoe Vliegen and Mikisha Thomas at two, 6-2.
Jacey Copeland and
Evie Snyder defeated Sarah Reich and Linda Hackner at three, 6-2.
Singles action saw Felts defeat Flink, 6-1, 6-2, at one, Kim defeated Vliegen at two, 6-0, 6-1, and Dimitroff topped Hackner at three, 6-3, 6-1. Broomall defeated Reich at five, 4-6, 6-0, 6-1, and Snyder topped Thomas at six, 6-2, 6-1.
The Eagles will be back in action on Sunday when they host Swarthmore College at 11:00 a.m.Â
