The 19th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision at 34th ranked North Carolina Wesleyan University on Tuesday afternoon in Rocky Mount, N.C. The Eagles close the regular season with a mark of 14-9.
In a tightly contested match from start to finish, the Eagles dropped the doubles point, 2-1, but gained a win at one, as
Trevor Rein and
Evan Fisher defeated Luca Knese and Albert Sitwell, 6-3.
In singles, five of the six matches needed a third set. Rein fell at one to Diego Segovia, 6-7. 6-3, 6-3, and
Brock Ladehoff fell at two to Luca Knese, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6. Fisher fell at three, 1-6, 6-0, 6-4, and
Ryan King dropped a 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 decision to Albert Sitwell.Â
Jack Riordan gained the Eagles' point with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 win at five over Tshepo Mosarwa.
Albert Vladimirskiy fell at six, 6-4, 6-0.
The Eagles will be back in action after finals at the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Tournament in Newport News, Va. on May 2-4.
