The 30th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team swept a 7-0 decision from visiting Washington College on Saturday at the Hegmann Family Courts. The Eagles improve to 4-5 on the season.
The Eagles scored a sweep in doubles. At one,
Addison Felts and
Natalie Kim defeated Eva Kading and Soleil Namunyola by a 6-1 score, and
Sophia Broomall and
Linda Dimitroff topped Sofia Sperandei and Carrie Lord, also 6-1.
Jacey Copeland and
Evie Snyder topped Isabella Sorhegui and Jayda Browne at three, 6-3.
In singles, the Eagles continued their successful ways, as Felts topped Namunyola, 6-1, 6-0, at one, and Kim topped Kading at two, 6-3, 6-0. Dimitroff defeated Sorhegui at three, 6-3, 6-4, and Copeland defeated Browne at four, 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8). Broomall topped Sperandei at five, 6-4, 6-0, and Snyder topped Gaby Coutts at six, 6-2, 6-4.
The Eagles will return to action on March 29 when they visit Christopher Newport University at 1:00 p.m.
