The 30th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team faced longtime rival Washington and Lee University, ranked seventh in the nation, on Friday evening at the UMW Tennis Center, and dropped a 6-1 decision to the Generals. The Eagles slip to 3-4 on the season.
The top of the lineup came through for the Eagles, as sophomore
Addison Felts and first year
Natalie Kim paired at one doubles to take down nationally-ranked Riho Iijima and Allie Murrell, 7-6 (7), but fell at two and three to drop the doubles point.
Felts then scored an impressive 6-3, 6-0 win over nationally ranked Murrell at one singles, gaining the Eagles' only point.
UMW will take on 13th ranked Carnegie Mellon University on Saurday at 3:00 p.m.
