The 26th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to seventh ranked Johns Hopkins University on Wednesday evening at the UMW Indoor Tennis Center. The Eagles slip to 2-1 on the season.
In doubles the Eagles scored a win at three, as
Matt Scott and
Will Fromherz scored a 7-6 (9) victory over Stoimenov and Rajendra. The Blue Jays scored 6-2 victories at one and two o take the doubles point.
Th Blue Jays then swept the doubles play, with UMW advancing to a third set at three, as sophomore
Evan Fisher played to a 6-4, 3-6, 6-7 (6) decision.
Trevor Rein at two and
Ryan King at five sent sets to tiebreakers.
The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday, when they host Haverford College a 9 am and Shenandoah University at 6 pm.
