What an amazing end to our 2025 fall semester for the University of Mary Washington Esports program! Ending with a NACE Grand Finals win from Valorant. The captains, Ethan Bible and Zohran Boston lead their team to victory. 
 
This semester also marks the end of Director Eric Gyamfi's, who was selected to be the new director last spring, first semester in full at UMW Esports. Gyamfi has focused on many changes in the program, focusing on leadership and professional development through focusing on exponential learning. In addition, he's has put more focus on the social media aspect for UMW's ESports outreach, with one of our Instagram reels gaining over 35k likes! 
 
As time passes, places change. During this semester we added six new gaming PCs for our students and an overhaul of our editing and broadcast stations– paving the way for more prospective and enrolled students here at Mary Washington!
 
 
In addition to our expansion, we have also been expanding to new ideas and collaborations. We are excited to announce our partnership and future endeavors with Gen G. Gen G. allows students more opportunities to explore mentorship, professional development, and global learning through its practicum education programs. This partnership will allow us to encourage our students to grow beyond the screen and strengthen our program's global footprint. 
 
Speaking of our global footprint, we are preparing to take any ESport-affiliated student from UMW on an opportunity to explore Thailand and a top Thai university ESport's program during Spring Break in 2026! In more upcoming changes to our expanding program, three new titles have been added to our Varsity ESports. Please welcome Chess, Call of Duty, and Marvel Rivals – cheer them on in their upcoming seasons of success!
