The University of Mary Washington men's swim team fell to Catholic, 164-98, in Washington, D.C. on Saturday afternoon.
In the 200-yard freestyle,
Larry Almariento took home second (1:49.11), then in the 100-yard backstroke,
Sam Roundtree and
Kyle Johnson placed second and third.
Will Burkey then went on to place second in the 100-yard freestyle (1:01.23).
Johnathan Zimmer took home the first victory of the day for the Eagles in the 200-yard butterfly (1:58.66), while
Evan Shelton finished in third.
Eli Polovchik finished second in the 50-yard freestyle, while
Zachary Cherry finished third. Burkey and Cherry then finished second and third in the 100-yard freestyle.
Kyle Johnson and
Patrick Stern finished second and third in the 200-yard backstroke. In the 500-yard freestyle, Almariento finished in third (5:07.17). Roundtree finished first in the 100-yard butterfly (53.43), while Cherry finished in third.
And in the 200-yard IM, Zimmer finished in second.
The Eagles are back in action on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. in Fredericksburg, Va. against Lynchburg.
