#28 UMW Women's Tennis Falls at #21 Washington & Lee, 5-4, on Saturday

The 28th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team dropped a tight 5-4 decision at 21st ranked Washington and Lee University on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles slip to 8-9 on the season.

The Eagles got off to a promising start, winning two of three doubles matches to gain the lead. Seniors Amanda Hagino and Hana Kimmey scored an 8-5 victory at one doubles, and junior Emily Beckner and freshman Addison Felts added an 8-5 win at two doubles. UMW nearly scored a sweep, falling in a tiebreaker at three doubles.

UMW gained singles victories from Felts at three singles, who won, 6-3, 6-4, and from Beckner, who won at four in a tiebreaker, 3-6, 7-6, 10-6.

The Eagles will compete in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Tournament next weekend.
