The University of Mary Washington men's swim team ran away with Friday night's result with a 158-104 win over St. Mary's in St. Mary's City, Md.
The Eagles quickly got wins from
Kyle Johnson in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:34.06), while
Sam Roundtree took home a victory in the 200-freestyle (1:45.83).
Zachary Cherry finished second in the 200 free.
In the 100-yard backstroke,
Kyle Diederich finished third with a final time of 59.04, while Will Burkey and Dan Rojas finished second and third in the 100-yard breaststroke.
The Eagles took home a podium finish in the 200-yard butterfly with
Johnathan Zimmer finishing first (1:54.97), while
Larry Almariento and
Patrick Stern finished second and third.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Eli Polovchik and Cherry finished second and third. And in the 100-yard freestyle, Almariento and Polovchik finished second and third as well.
In the 200-yard backstroke, UMW again had a podium finish as Stern won the event (2:01.68), while Rojas finished second and AJ Green finished third. Zimmer, again, took home the win in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:10.75), while Roundtree placed third.
In the 100-yard fly, Zimmer claimed his third victory of the night (52.43), while Burkey and Almariento finished second and third. In the 400-yard IM, Johnson then placed second.
The Eagles are back in action next weekend (Friday-Sunday) for the F&M Invitational.
